EXAMINING THE BIRD WITH HEADPHONES TEE.

When we are asked to do interviews for various newspapers, magazines, online blogs etc. a common question is, "what is your favorite shirt". This question is a very difficult one to answer, perhaps as difficult as a parent being asked which child is their favorite. We have an emotional connection with each tee.

I had a thought after a recent charity show we did. Someone purchased the Bird With Headphones tee and I asked him, "what do you think it means?" he said, "the hummingbird is known for the beauty in its melodious chirp, it's therefore ironic that the bird is listening to the melodies of man-made sounds through headphones/speakers." I liked it. It was a unique interpretation. It made me think, in the past year that we have been going to various events all across the country, I find this tee to have the most varied interpretations, all of which make sense and are unique in their own way.

I recall a conversation with my grandfather where he interpreted this tee with a childhood memory. He recalled a musician that used to play the flute near his home and every time he would play his flute, all of the birds would surround his house. This image reminded him of the connection between man-made music and the fascination animals have with it. It was amazing.

At a show we did in D.C., a musician we met felt it was a hummingbird giving birth to the sound of it's music. It's amazing how the human mind can connect different thoughts and produce a theory. This tee truly embodies the beauty of the Profound Aesthetic Movement, it is a true work of art that is so visually appealing and has countless interpretations unique to the eyes of the beholder. --iz
