You read correct. $213,000. One of Apple's first computers went on sale at a Christie's Auction held in London. It was made in a garage by co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in 1976, sold with a typed note from Steve Jobs and a box stamped with Apple's original logo (an apple falling on Sir Isaac Newton). It originally sold for $666.66. $213,000 now sets the record for the highest price a personal computer has been sold for.
I guess for someone that has money, that is a small price to pay for a piece of history. Apple has really set its mark as one of the most admired companies, I mean, here I am sitting typing this on my Macbook Pro, with my iPhone next to me while I stare at our two massive iMacs side-by-side. Keep doing your thing, Apple. We're all watching and of course saving up because God forbid you ever have a sale.
Oh, and in case you were curious how the original logo looked. Glad they decided to go with a "clean" look in later years. Definitely makes us feel cooler to be a part of the Apple fam.
