Surfing the web on a Friday evening landed me on www.raika-design.com, a furniture design company that uses Persian Calligraphy as a way of "living in art". Further, they describe: "Our passion is bringing the aesthetic beauty and antiquity of Persian art to the domain of modern life."
Well, that has certainly been accomplished. Their furniture is super contemporary with clean lines and solid monotone colors that allow for all of the attention to be focused on the beautifully placed calligraphy. Now, I can't read Persian and I have no clue what it says, but one thing is for certain, it is beautiful and I'd love to own a piece. Feast your eyes on this:
