If living in this age of cumulating digitalized global singularity hasn't yet convinced you that the world is quite small, perhaps this video will. Other than ships, airplanes are the original medium for transnational communication and movement. With transatlantic flights, month long journeys were reduced to a few hours, making those across the pond a little more accessible. Today you can go pretty much anywhere on the globe if you truly wanted to. Although we still may collectively imagine some locations inaccessible or removed from the world, the truth is that due to airplanes thousands and millions of people cross the oceans and constinents everyday. Found on notcot.org, this two minute video tracks all the world's air traffic for one day. As you watch the sun set in the Americas and rise across Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia, you will see a myriad of airplane-bees carrying global citizens to and from all corners of the Earth.
We're not so separated after all.
