THE YO-YO REVOLUTION

It wasn't up until two days ago that I was opened up to a whole new world, the yo-yo world, that is. After having my twelve year old cousin help out with the monthly Profound inventory check, I asked him what he wanted as a reward for his hard work. He took me to http://www.hijinkstoys.com and showed me a yo-yo for $45 bucks. I said, "you must be out of your mind". I had no idea the sort of price tag they come with and that there is a whole world of yo-yo-ers out there. In fact, it is a part of popular culture much like skateboarding or biking.

I had him explain to me how this yo-yo is better than the $10 one he got from Toys R' Us. He gets elaborate in his description insisting that it is heavier, hence making the drop time longer and allowing him to do more tricks; not to mention a better string and much more durable. Damn, the kid did his research. I took a chance, and I thought, "hey, it is cheaper than that Tekken 6 for PS3 he wanted for $60 bucks", so I went with it. The "Black Knight" arrived 2 days later (thanks for the great customer service Mark over at hijinkstoys.com). So, indeed it was SICK. Smooth as butter and a well spent $45 bucks and this is just at an intermediate level of skill. Pros spend upwards of $400 bucks a pop. Good God. But hey, I gotta admit, it's addicting. Pick one up at http://www.hijinkstoys.com and join the yo-yo revolution.
