Profound Aesthetic interviews JOSEPH, a talented Spoken Word and Hip Hop Artist, Emcee, and also a Human Beatbox. This underground artist is paving his path to mainstream with his consistency displayed by his upcoming double disc mixtape- "Who What When Where Why We Are"
Profound Aesthetic:
Brian "Joseph" Roberts, thank you for letting Profound Aesthetic having the oppertunity of interviewing you. Lets start off with the roots. How did "Joseph" emerge?
Joseph:
I was given the middle name Joseph by my mother and father when I was born. Joseph was a Saint and the supposed step-father of Christ, as well as a carpenter, hard worker and artisan. I find myself to be a hardworker and an artist in my own right, as well as a firm believer in a higher power - so the name stuck.
Profound Aesthetic:
Rumors are that you're not just an incredible rapper, you also have other talents. Would you share?
Joseph:
Yes, besides my love for Hip-Hop music, I have a passion for Spoken Word and what some claim (laughingly) is a talent for beatboxing. Not to mention my love for simply exciting a crowd as an event emcee whenever I have the chance.
Profound Aesthetic:
What do you have in work right now?
Joseph:
Currently, I am working on a double disc CD to release in the near future entitled "Who What When Where Why We Are" - which would also be available for digital download via iTunes, etc. In addition to work on the upcoming CD I am currently orchestrating a tour of colleges and universities - so far I am going to be performing at Montclair State University, Rutgers University, Middlesex County College and a host of other schools and I am working on expanding this further out into the greater New Jersey area.
Profound Aesthetic:
Describe your form of art
Joseph:
What I do is a mosaic of conscience spoken word, literature and sound with a small dose of real life. A form of self-expression that is meant to inform you, show you or sometimes take you away from reality. It is meant to be something that is so thought provoking and able to be interpreted in many ways - and sometimes something so concrete it can literally be just that - concrete. That's my art
Profound Aesthetic
What is your biggest inspiration that keeps the pen pacing?
Joseph:
My desire to really help, inspire and teach those willing to listen and learn. This art form has impacted my life more then anything else and I feel obliged to share something I love and feel so passionate about with the world.
Profound Aesthetic:
To wrap this up, what would you say your favorite profound tee is?
Joseph:
I love them all. I love the Create The Sound, X tee, will be copping that Polychromatic Thought shirt!
Profound Aesthetic:
Can you show the world what Joseph is all about?
Joseph:
Lets do it, you got a mic?
