The Creators Project is back in the USA this weekend, setting camp in Dumbo, Brooklyn. As a brand that prides itself on celebrating creativity and innovation, we'd be untrue to ourselves if we didn't blog about this brilliant event that brings together artists, musicians, and thinkers from around the world to share their work with each other and the public ('fo free!).
Here's an excerpt from the website to explain a little bit more what the Creators Project is all about:
The Creators Project is a global network dedicated to the celebration of creativity, culture and technology. At a time in the history of the arts where digital technology has revolutionized distribution, democratized access, and re-imagined the scope and scale with which an artist can create a vision and reach an audience, The Creators Project is a new kind of arts and culture channel for a new kind of world.
We'll be posting videos of our favorite featured creators later, but this first one is a must see. You've probably heard all about Arcade Fire's dazzling interactive performance at the past Coachella that involved giant balls of multi-colored light falling from the sky (seriously!). Well, here is the mastermind behind the project, Chris Milk, and his production team discussing the production process two-weeks prior to the concert. Dedicated to finding new ways for people to experience familiar platforms, Milk and his crew of smart and technologically savy thinkers produced a moment that challenged the concept of music videos, outdoor exhibitions, live-experiences, and concert crowds interaction with the music forever. They called their project "Summer Into Dust". Check out the video after the jump.
