Transit Shutdown

In preparation for the arrival of Hurricane Irene, many East Coast cities have shut down their transit systems, including the most famous public transportation system of them all, New York City's MTA. In honor of this humbling event, here's some cool transportation art. Fadeout Design's TRNSPRTNATION is a series of typographic subway maps, composed out of the names of stations along the various lines. Today we salute NYC's famed and currently abandoned subways, but you can also buy posters to other Irene-targeted cities like Boston and Washington D.C.

In all seriousness, our hearts and minds are out to those facing the storm. Be safe and secure. We advise you stock up on water and non-perishables, but here are some links to other Hurricane Irene resources.
