Pablo Picasso Sets New Record

Hold onto your breath. Nearly $106.5 Million dropped at an auction on Tuesday for a Picasso painting setting the record for the highest price paid for a piece of art at an auction; it's called "Nude, Green Leaves and Bust" and sold for $106,482,500 to an unidentified telephone bidder.

That's crazy. Granted, I know this guy is a hot shot, but it goes again with branding and Picasso is one hell of a brand. As artists ourselves we understand that it is hard to put a pricetag on works of art but damn 106.5 mil? It must be a presige thing, sitting over coffee at an upetty place talking about the Picasso piece they just bought hanging over the fireplace, something us commonfolk can't really understand. Maybe that's a little judgmental of me, but damn, I can certainly think of 106,482,500 ways to better spend $106,482,500 haha, but that's just me. Interesting piece though. I hope you're smiling in your grave, Picasso, because you're one hell of a superstar in our world.
