We've come a long way in how we listen to music...

For those of you that remember the movie, "Do the Right Thing" you remember Radio Raheem and his boom box, almost the size of his entire upper body. Classic part of the movie. In fact, it was largely a huge part of popular hip-hip culture in the 80's. Well, we have since come a long way in the way we listen to music. From Tapes and analog radio to CD to mp3 players, iPods, iTunes to radio xm to now iheart radio. Music can be listened to just about anywhere you go! As an ode to those golden days of boom boxes, here is a design by William Kang called the "9999" a retake on the overlooked 80's style boom box. It has an internal hard drive and plays digital audio and video content. With a rechargeable battery it can be taken just about anywhere. There is no official word on when it is going to be released for sale, but one thing's for sure, it's pretty darn cool, especially if you were alive to witness the boombox era, we've certainly come a long way and I'm only in my 20's. I can't even imagine what it must be like for those in their 60's, 70's, 80's 90's, life through their lenses must be really interesting.
